San Jose, CA., Bel Magnetic Solutions, a Bel group company (NASDAQ: BELFA and BELFB) and global leader in the design and sales of MagJack® Integrated Connector Modules (ICM) for Networking and Telecommunications applications, announces a 2.5GBase-T 60 W, 4-pair Power over Ethernet (PoE) which offers a path to upgrade to NBASE-T at minimal cost. Users can implement 2.5GBase-T, nearly doubling their product speed and bandwidth, at about the same cost as their current 1GBase-T solution, achieving up to 6.9 Gbps speeds.
Bel Magnetics ICMs also meet the PoE standard for transmitting or receiving 0 to 60 W, for general PoE products where 30 W of power is not enough. Typical applications include base stations, security cameras, industrial control equipment, video display units and wireless access points for 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Featuring an industry standard footprint and pinout, the 2.5GBase-T is a drop-in replacement for existing 1G products, with no PCB changes required.
The 2.5GBase-T 60 W ICMs meet all IEEE 802.3 10/100Base-T thru 2.5GBase-T electrical requirements including RL, IL, Common Mode parameters and 100% Hi-pot tested.
Carrying 720mA of current at 57 VDC continuous, they are RoHS 6/6 compliant, UL recognized, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Bel’s NBASE-T MagJack® ICMs come in many different LED color combinations and options, with 30 or 50 micro-inches of gold plated contacts, and are lead-free wave-solder compatible, with EMI-spring tabs on the shield for enhanced EMI and ESD performance.
