Signal Transformer Lighting Products Overview

Leds have changed the way we design and use lighting in applications beyond general purpose lighting, such as emergency vehicles, landscape, gaming machines, medical devices and more. Signal offers transformers and inductors that enable designers to deliver high performance, efficient and reliable led lighting solutions.

Our SCHIP and SCRH families of inductors are shielded, surface-mount inductors that support operation up to five megahertz, and provide the lowest dc resistance per micro henry in the industry to maximize power efficiency. They feature a composite construction that minimizes audible noise and handles high transient current spikes without saturating.

Readily available, the SMD lighting design kit bundles 16 of the most popular models. SCHIP inductors have a saturation current range of 0.14 amps to 48 amps. They're offered with inductance values from 0.22 microhenries to 22 microhenries in a wide range of compact form factors with a height as low as 1.8 millimeters, making them ideal for compact high brightness applications.

SCRH inductors are available from one microhenry to 180 microhenries, and with saturation current ratings up to 5 amps. They offer a larger, more robust termination for use in rugged applications. SCIHP and SCRH inductors are rated for operation from negative 55 to positive 125 degrees Celsius.

Our compact LT transformers can step down 120 or 277 volt primary side supplies to a 12 volt 4.17 amp output with SELV isolation to eliminate potential shock hazards and the transformers are ul recognized and can be easily mounted or hardwired with half-inch conduit hardware. They feature a rugged construction, class b insulation, and a corrosion resistant surface coating for use in outdoor applications.

SLT series transformers offer touch safe terminals and are designed to output 120 volts from a 277 volt primary. They feature class F insulation and are available with power ratings up to 1000 volt amps.

Our EcoTran series takes safety a step further with the transformer housed in a ul 94 v2 rated enclosure, so there are no exposed metallic surfaces. A split bobbin construction provides superior isolation and dual secondary outputs for connecting transformers in series or parallel. The Ecotran series covers power ratings up to 450 volt amps.
